Crafty Creations by Sathyakala

Hi Crafty pals,

This is Sathyakala here from Paperie Expressions. Thank you SO much Rashmi for having me over here.

Its always feels great to take a trip down the memory lane and one such was my Blog candy Win at Itsy Bitsy's blog launch and also to achieve 100 followers for Blog Candy celebration in 2012.  Itsy Bitsy was so generous to send me 2800 INR worth Craft goodies to my UAE Home....which is still fresh in my memories.

And yet another moment to cherish, this Guest Designer offer from IB Blog is such special to me. Their GDT kit was such a lovely package to work with.

Let's get into the projects. Hope you enjoy as much as I enjoyed doing these :)

Floral Thank You card

Just wanna convey my heartfelt thanks to the Team for the offer and so this 'Thank you' card.

  • Absolutely loved these teeny tiny blooms from "Say it with flowers" stamp set.
  • Stamped using Ranger's archival ink in watercolor paper and colored using brush pens.
  • Fussy cut it and mounted on a watercolored die cut panel.
  • Selected sentiment from same stamp set and mounted it onto a A2 sized White cardstock.
  • Added few drops of dimensional glue to finish off the card.
Floral card

These Cherry blossoms are just perfect for my card.

  • These small blooms from the set "Say it with flowers" are the perfect ones if you are novice at coloring.
  • I stamped using archival black ink with a design on mind and followed the pattern.
  • Colored using some fine quality colour pencils and highlighted with a white gel pen.
  • Used generous splash of White gesso and stamped the sentiment from the stamp set.
  • Mounted this onto a A2 sized white cardstock to finish off the card.
Meow Love Card

Oh these cute kitties are so adorable!

  • Stamped the sentiment "You are perfect" from "Perfect Birthday" and heat embossed randomly in white, over the watercolor cardstock .
  • Then used some versatile and vivid water colour ink crystals for the background.
  • Stamped the kitties in the watercolor paper and colored them using the color brush pens and fussy cut it.
  • Stamped the sentiment from the same set and added those fussy cut kitties over it.
  • Added heart wood veneer for that special touch.
  • This focal panel is mounted on to a A2 sized cardstock.
Floral Tall Card

Its been a long time, I attempted a tall card and these blue blooms are perfect for the same.

  • Added layers of torn pieces of patterns papers over a white doily with a die cut border.
  • Then layered it with Itsy Bitsy Burlap ribbon from my stash with cheesecloth.
  • Added the Angel rose ocean mist flowers with die cut leaves, which are sponged with Olive pigment ink pad.
  • The teeny tiny white flowers from my stash are sponged with Salmon pink Pigment ink pad.
  • Added natural hemp cord from my stash to the floral spray for the extra effects with few baby blue pearls and  green glitter balls.
  • Stamped sentiment from "Say it with flowers stamp set" on a 1 inch circle and sponged the edges with Olive Pigment ink pad.
  • Added to the focal panel with a bit of cheesecloth.
  • The entire focal panel was added to the tall card using red tacky tape.
Floral Mixed Media Canvas

  • Those awesome handmade flowers from Itsy Bitsy demanded a mixed media canvas and so this attempt!

  • Took a 5"x7" canvas and white gessoed it completely.
  • I used light paste for a textural touch with Lime splash spray and applied using IB Chevron Stencil from my stash.
  • Then added layering with gauze and corrugated packaging material over the stenciled area.
  • Gessoed down whole area again to tone down the colors.
  • Sponged the white frame with Metallic gold pigment ink and added over the layering.
  • On that added the handmade flowers from various collections .
  • Green heat embossed IB Flourish chipboard from my stash and added near the floral spray.
  • Took Lime splash spray on a brush and brushed around the floral cluster and added few art stones for the interest.
  • Stamped a few random print script over the entire canvas panel.
  • Then gave a generous splash of white gesso over the floral cluster area.
  • Then, die cut sentiment from IB backing sheet of chipboard, clear heat embossed and added over the chipboard.
  • Sponged butterfly with baby pink pigment ink and added to the canvas.
Some more angled and close up shots!
